Hunting Snorkacks! [19 Sep 2005|11:46am]

[ mood | cheerful ]

Hello, everyone! As I mentioned in one of the last posts, a competition would be formed for the site. Well, if you don't already know, there is one now! Details are still a bit vague, but you can get updates at the KoD forums. Hunting Snorkacks Forum

As of right now, anything goes (as long as it's R/L, of course). Fics, Artwork, essays, anything can be submitted and it doesn't matter if it's been published before! We want it! Winners will likely get posted on our site (I got a button made!) and the LJ.

So if you're interested, go to the forum I linked to above. There's plenty to do while you wait. :)

The Ron and Luna Show. [13 Sep 2005|08:12pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

That's right, you read correctly! It's been a couple of months in the making but it's done, the second airing of the famous Ron and Luna Show. *crickets chirp* OK, so maybe not "famous", but something I do anyway. The point of this show is partly to show how Red Moon isn't as weak a ship as some presume, and to kill some of the misconceptions about the ship.

And even if Ron/Luna will never be canon, I see no reason to stop this. Do you wanna know why? Then this episode may enlighten you.

Hehe, a long episode. One might call it a special. If you know of a wild R/Lu-missconception, or anything else
you think would fit in the show, bring it up in commentary. If not, then just comment. ^_^ Or not, it's
entirely up to you.

Is the Game Over? [01 Aug 2005|10:48pm]

[ mood | Not going down! ]

Well, it's August First. It's been over two weeks since HBP and what seems to be the end of Red Moon. Does this mean that we Red Mooners are going to hang up our Keeper Quidditch gear? No way! Shantari and I have talked and neither of us want to shut down Keeper of Dreams. The site will go on!

Keeper of Dreams will continue asking and accepting essays about Red Moon. It doesn't matter what the subject is as long as it's postive for Ron/Luna.

Fan fic and art will most certainly be accepted. We still have a long way to go to put stuff on the site.

Shantari is still going to write the Ron and Luna show. That should prove interesting.

Some people may wonder why we are keeping the site up (Herons, more likely). Well, it's like this: Ron/Luna is (for some) our ideal love. To me, Shantari and other R/L shippers, we feel the characters would mature greatly than R/Hr would (some of our multi-shippers on board here may disagree, sorry if I offended you T_T ). In short, we are not giving up on R/L just because of book six. We are going to enjoy the couple and not let others ruin our fun.

That is why Shantari and I want to keep Keeper of Dreams open. We still intend to submit a proposal to Nappa about hosting. We still intend to post essays and maintain this community. Nothing's going to stop us from doing it!

So R/L fans unite! Keeper of Dreams is still playing in the game. We are just playing by our own rules now!

It's almost that time!! [15 Jul 2005|01:50pm]

[ mood | nervous ]

With England getting HBP earlier than the US, hms_redmoon has had it's settings changed. Comments are now screened and membership is now moderated. Like other HP communities, we are doing this to prevent people from posting spoilers in the comments (since only select members can post entries). The select members who can post entries do not have their posts moderated (as they are mods themselves and that's kind of pointless).

We hope you all enjoy the new book. :) Hopefully, Ron will be eying a certain blond. XD

We'll be back to normal as soon as we can. Bye! ^_^

Edit: I would also like to remind those members who can post entries that to not post spoilers. I would hope that you guys know that already, but it's bare reminding. :p

Edit 2 (Yes, I like doing this!): Since we focus on HP news as well, the question on JK's site was answered.

So how DO the members of the Order of the Phoenix communicate with each other?

I was surprised that this particular question won the poll, because the answer (as I've already said) can be found in an already-published book (Goblet of Fire), whereas the other two questions related to book six. But perhaps I was influenced by the fact that I knew the other two questions had interesting answers – and, of course, you will shortly know the answers to those questions anyway!

Members of the Order use their Patronuses to communicate with each other. They are the only wizards who know how to use their spirit guardians in this way and they have been taught to do so by Dumbledore (he invented this method of communication). The Patronus is an immensely efficient messenger for several reasons: it is an anti-Dark Arts device, which makes it highly resilient to interference from Dark wizards; it is not hindered by physical barriers; each Patronus is unique and distinctive, so that there is never any doubt which Order member has sent it; nobody else can conjure another person's Patronus, so there is no danger of false messages being passed between Order members; nothing conspicuous needs to be carried by the Order member to create a Patronus.

And as many of you have deduced, Dumbledore's Patronus is indeed a phoenix.

Text Only

I think all of you will join me in hoping that the other interesting answer in question (the one that asked if Ron would get a girlfriend) concerns a certain blond we all know and love. XD

The Ron and Luna Show. [11 Jul 2005|12:35am]

[ mood | accomplished ]

The Ron and Luna Show is what I hope will be a recurrent feature on the site's Fun Stuff. I've written the first episode which more or less explains everything you need to know about what it is all about. If I can I will update it weekly, so it becomes a weekly show. And without further ado, here it is:

Comment please. I don't mind changing things if I have to.

Welcome to the Keeper of Dreams LJ Community!! [10 Jul 2005|03:14am]

[ mood | ecstatic ]

Hello, I'm silverjedi (also known as Moonstruck). This community is the offical community for the Keeper of Dreams website (see above links in title bar). What this community will do is offer updates on the site and let LJ R/L users interact. ^_^ It'll be like the forum only LJ style. :D

Ok, I guess, first things first: content. We really need content. If you want to submit anything, email us at keeper_dreams@yahoo.com

Right now we have three essays and one fan fic. We plan on getting hosted sometime soon. We would like for some of the sections to be filled up before we go ask.

Here are two of the essays and my opinion on them. ^_^

Moonstruck Part I by Louielacious

My opinion on this essay: I think it's the best. Very detailed. Also long, I haven't coded Part II, yet. ^_^;; The essay is also gives great insight of Ron's character and what he must go through in his journey. Luna's character, her role and how it relates to the plot (and possibly Ron?) is also very interesting. Louielacious comes up with the famous love chain and shows how Ron's interest in other girls leads to Luna.

Ron and Luna: Luna Chooses her King by Sienna

This essay is part of Sirius Black: Psychopomp and Guardian, His Role in H/Hr essay. The entire essay explores how Sirius and other objects and animals are involved in Harry and Hermione. However, one part of this huge essay explores the role Luna may have in Harry's life. Sienna brings up the concept of the Sol (Sun) and Luna (Moon) and how their marrage is a key part for the search for the Philosopher’s Stone. While she says that Harry is closely connected to the Sun, there are signs that Luna Lovegood has already chosen a king for herself and it's not Harry! Wonderful essay, Sienna! ^_^

The other essay up at the site is Spiders, Moons and Necklaces, Oh My! However, this essay is my own and I don't think it's good to put my opinion on my own essay. Someone else will do that. ^_^

Well, welcome to the Keeper of Dreams LJ Community! Hope you all have fun here!
